Sponsor a Lead Roof Tile

Transept roof from bell Harry Tower

The roof of Canterbury Cathedral is made of more than 3000  lead roof tiles. Lead has a life span of around 100 years and many parts of the existing roof were last re-leaded over 150 years ago. Many of the existing tiles are worn out and the roof is leaking.

The project is massive. The nave roof, which requires the most urgent attention, is almost 60 metres long; longer than an olympic swimming pool.

Be a part of it

You now have a unique opportunity to support the Save Canterbury Cathedral Appeal in a very personal way. You are invited to sponsor a lead roof tile, personalised with up to three initials, which will form part of the new roof.

Making a difference together

Whether you choose to sponsor a tile as an individual, business, school, social organisation, as a gift, or in memory of a loved one, it is a wonderful way to play your part in the Save Canterbury Cathedral Appeal.
