Including gift aid, their final total is £6227.97 which is a fantastic achievement for all of their hard work and we are extremely grateful for their efforts.

Faversham school sponsors a stone

Lorenden School

Lorenden Prep School from Painter's Forstall near Faversham paid a visit to the Cathedral to see the stones they had sponsored, after raising the money in rather a unique way. The school raised £180, enough to sponsor three stones, after raffling a knitted nativity scene at Christmas. Once they had seen where their stone was located they visited the stonemasons workshop to see how the stones are carved.

Tacoma Youth Chorus - A Flood of Memories

Tacoma Youth Choir

Dr David Flood, the Cathedral's Organist and Master of the Choristers, spent a week in America this year conducting workshops with the Tacoma Youth Chorus, culminating in a Midwinter Concert featuring five of its seven choirs and an organ solos by Dr Flood. To show their appreciation of his efforts, students from all choirs collected coins and presented Dr Flood with a cheque for £200 for the Appeal.

An Evening of Musical Delight

Rotary Club of Canterbury

The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury was the venue for a wonderful evening of musical entertainment organised by the Rotary Club of Canterbury. A production of an Old Time Music Hall evening, performed by the Whitstable-based production company, The Lindley Players provided the audience with lots of opportunities to join in with old favorites. A grand total of £6,500 was raised from the evening and their donation will go towards the restoration of one of the pinnacles at the top of the Corona.
