From the end of May through to mid June a major exhibition and sale of over 300 paintings took place at Canterbury Cathedral. The exhibition featured paintings religious buildings great and small from across the world from some of the country's leading artists including David Arbus, John Doyle, Charlotte Halliday, Peter Kuhfeld, Hubert Pragnell, Alec Vickerman, Charlotte Ward, Toby Ward and the late John Ward.
Paintings of the historic splendours of Venice to the tranquil beauty of the Kent parish church attracted visitors and buyers from across the country.
John Doyle, the organiser and inspiration behind the exhibition said, " I am delighted that so many fellow artists helped support this exhibition. Many of the great religious houses featured in the exhibition have survived the centuries; a testimony to our national and world heritage and an apt reminder of the important role we must play in ensuring that the magnificent buildings remain for many generations to come".
